Arizona (multi day postings)

Arizona
“Together we will go far”
429 miles so far. We slept overnight In an easy and clean  best western in Needles CA. Up early. (5am).  Was a little afraid to miss the alarm. Because we were right on the line, TMobile changed the clock depending on how the wind blew.
An hour drive to Lake Havasu.  Arrived just in time to catch the sunrise ceremony.
It was amazing to watch the inflation of dozens of hot air balloons.   One balloon team said it takes three hours to put the balloon away.   An amazing sight.
Adding a trip on a hot air balloon to my bucket list.   Also next time want to see them all go up at night.  We are heading to Vegas so we only stayed for a few hours.  Havasu May be a return location some day.

They had a sunrise ceremony with the national anthem and the first balloon up with a flag hanging.   Marine band was there.  It was very America.  One of my favorite moments. This is what America is all about. Made me proud of my country for giving my kids an opportunity like this.
I had a moment of true amazement when all the balloons were going up together. There were colors everywhere.   Who needs psychedelics when you can have such a moment of euphoria while watching the beautiful hot air balloons. Over eighty alll together.

Patrick insists that the mountains in the background are screensavers for the Mac. He has the picture so I can’t post it.   But it certainly looked close.

Leaving the balloons we stopped for a bathroom run while John filled the tank.  Ran into Taco Bell. Had to be the friendliest Taco Bell we have ever been in.   We really just wanted to run in quickly for the facilities but a kid whose last name was Newcomb was so pleasant and friendly that we felt like we needed to order.   Kids would have been mortified otherwise. Who would ever expect Taco Bell would bring on a nice conversation with this kid.

Over the London Bridge.  A bridge in lake Havasu that actually came from London.   Someone bought it and had it shipped all the way to Arizona.
